Barraco, Rosammare (2019). Sicily, Italy. Nero D’Avola.
The grapes are picked early, in the middle of August, meaning the acid is tart and alcohol low. It spends just a night on its skins, ferments in stainless steel vats and rests in concrete until April, before being bottled without SO2. This is a wonderful Rosammare and with just a wisp of tannins amongst its bright, crunchy fruit.
