Andi Weigand, White (2020). Franconia, Germany. Muller Thurgau, Silvaner, Scheurebe, Bacchus.

The 2020 harvest was obliterated by frosts, but somehow yielded great quality. Direct press and transferred to large German oak for 9 months before bottling.

Andi follows the same process for each of his whites: grapes initially go through his 100-year-old direct press. Juice is then transferred to wooden barrels for nine months or so before bottling. He has 30 big barrels in cellar between 1000 to 3000litres, this field blend is assembled in April, settled in steel tank before bottling in June.
